Former Godwin baseball player enters the major leagues

Godwin alumni Eric Fornataro (Class of 2006) has become the first former Godwin baseball player to make it into Major League Baseball (MLB).

Fornataro is playing as a relief pitcher for the St. Louis Cardinals after being called up from a triple-A team in Memphis.

Godwin track meet April 2

The Godwin Eagles hosted a track meet against several schools including Deep Run, Freeman, Hermitage, J.R. Tucker, John Marshall, Maggie Walker, Patrick Henry, and Thomas Jefferson on April 2.

The Eagles’ boys team finished in second place overall. “It was a strong start to our season,” said head coach Jon Lauder.







Justice Williams wins conference title

One of the individual champions for the Eagles was junior Justice Williams. Although he was behind early in the Conference Title match, Williams won the 220 pound weight class by pin.


Godwin national signing day

On Feb. 5, Godwin held Signing Day for its student athletes. Signing Day is for athletes to sign their letters of intent to play a college sport, and it has become a national event with some signings televised on ESPN.
