Up, up, and away!

This past summer, two of Godwin’s senior baseball players made their decisions on where they would continue their athletic and academic careers. Godwin senior Juice Tobin began playing baseball when he was just four years old. The Eagles senior shortstop committed to Longwood University at the end of July.
His connection to the school and program dated back to some of his former teammates attending Longwood. He had taken a visit a month prior to the commitment and made his decision due to the coach and his love for the town of Farmville. Tobin hopes to major in business or sports management.
In May, Garrett Mason chose to continue his baseball career in Blacksburg for Virginia Tech The senior pitcher grew up with hopes of playing for the Hokies, as his dad attended and played soccer for Virginia Tech. Garrett began his baseball career when he was 12.

He came into contact with Hokies coaches only three days before he made his decision. The future Hokie was invited on a visit and commit ed while on his visit. Mason plans to major in architecture. Mason’s mother happily speaks on the commitment saying, “We are so proud of him, and it is great to see all of the hard work he has put into baseball paying off.” Both Mason and Tobin lift at local gym Total Training when not in season and play travel ball together for the RBA West Seminoles.
