On April 28, the Godwin girls’ lacrosse team won a close game against Glen Allen to help their record improve. The team was led in goals scored by senior Juliana Keeling, junior Pierce Hickman, and sophomore Abby Bostian. “We really put together a team effort and worked together to win this game,” said Keeling. Glen Allen took a brief lead in the first half by outscoring Godwin 8-5 in the first fifteen minutes of the match. This lead was not long lived as Godwin quickly came back in the second half on a scoring run by Keeling. Godwin ended up taking over the lead and kept strong until the end of the game with multiple goals scored by Hickman and Bostian to secure the game. The final score of the game was 17-13 with a Godwin victory. “Our team really put in our best effort and it was seen through our performance on the field,” said Hickman. “We were missing a few starters and everyone else came up big. Juliana Keeling had a season high 7 goals,” said head coach Stephen Worfolk.
