Manga Loved by Many, Ends Too Soon

Worldwide Popular Manga Ends in 3 Chapters Later This Month

Since its inception in 2018, Jujutsu Kaisen has created a global fanbase for its cheeky, funny, and sometimes cocky characters. This manga, later turned into an anime,  practically has the whole anime community on the edge of their seat with each release. Its a mix of blunt consequences from the story’s plot and unwavering deaths by popular characters the story has as well. Jujutsu Kaisen will certainly be remembered alongside other popular manga and anime, despite ending in the middle of its peak in popularity.

Announced on August 19th by Jujutsu Kaisen’s writer and illustrator, Gege Akutami, the end of the manga was approaching in 5 chapters. “It’s sad because I was watching it since quarantine. 2021 or 2022, that’s when I started watching it”, Godwin student Alice Zhang shared. Whether viewers and readers were tuned in from the beginning or just recently, to refer to the JJK community being sad is just an understatement. “My friends all have been following it for such a long time, they’re kinda sad that it’s ending,” Andrew Dang shared. Not only is sadness in the picture but confusion and more unanswered questions on how the series is going to end in 3 chapters too.

In addition, comments coming from an array of social media platforms, disappointed and crushed anticipation of the characters reaching their goals in the end. “I feel like a lot of plot points weren’t resolved.”, Godwin student Liam Cauley stated. To say the least, It’s uncertain what the ending will become due to most JJK characters passing. “I’m sad everyone is dying”, Zhang mentioned.

An outcome of confusion, however, is hope for a solid ending to the series that makes it even more enjoyable. “It secured the Guinness World Record as “world’s most popular animated shows of 2023.” JJK dethroned giants like Attack on Titan and One Piece with ease. Despite just two seasons and a prequel movie since its 2020 debut, it’s now one of anime’s all-time best sellers.” a Hindustan Times article stated.

Despite the approaching end for JJK, one question still remains: Will there be any future prequels for Jujutsu Kaisen? It is confirmed however that a second movie will be released in 2025 to at least capture events prior to the last chapter.“He might do a new series, I don’t think he’ll do a new sequel”, “All of the characters are dead”, both Alice and Andrew stated. Although still uncertain, viewers and fans can only hope for the adventure to continue.

Similar to many other shows and novel series even outside of manga and anime, it’s upsetting yet satisfying. Memories and enjoyment is appreciated though with any well-produced show. Either way, experiencing Jujutsu Kaisen and its breakthrough and popularity is quite amazing. Another interesting thing that came out of JJK’s run was not only becoming globally popular but also anime’s progress gained in relativity.
